Dedicated religious educator and deacon Gene Vanderzanden writes for those who like to search for and discover gems of insight that deepen their understanding of scripture and connect their faith with their life experience. He holds Master of Pastoral Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Seattle University, and has served in parish ministry for three decades.

Gene says, "I wrote Mark's Passion, Passion & Purpose and Women of Passion
to explore and share with my readers things that lie behind the gospel texts--
the fascinating people, the troubled times, the sources of inspiration, and the challenges faced by the early Christians.  I felt I could express these best through stories."

The photo is from a memorable day on Sea of Galilee.
